SLOCLAP, the SIFU developer, offers fans a small overview of Sifu s backstage. It will offer a glimpse of motion capture and how Sifu manages the Kung Fu in the real world.
The new video presents the creative director of Sloclap Jordan Layani and the fight choreographer of the game Benjamin Colusfi, plunging deeply into the realism of the fight as well as the authentic approach of culture.
The collaboration between Sloclap and Colusfi took place over several months at the beginning of development, with the movements of the main character inspired by Benjamin Colusfi and his unique approach to Pak Mei Kung Fu. Priority to authenticity, Colusfi and Layani have worked closely to tap in the best of two concepts: creativity and know-how. By mixing them, they created the quick and stuffed combat style that you see in Sifu.
Benjamin was invited to create more than 200 different movements for the SIFU protagonist. I do not know how many movements a character usually has, but 200 seems a lot for this type of game.
This collaboration has also explored significant cultural details, such as the appropriate design of the character s Wuguan. Colusfi s training experience in Foshan, located in Guandong Province, has helped to create a more immersive world.
If you do not already know, Sifu tells the story of a young student from Kung Fu who spent her life training for a day of calculation after the brutal murder of all her family by a mysterious assassination squad . I would say that to murder his family is a very bad day.
SIFU should be launched on February 22 on PS4, PS5 and PC.
